Rules & Conditions
- Entries must be the product of the person entering.
- All care will be taken with entries but no responsibility will be accepted.
- Special entry labels are available with entry forms supplied, with fee payment of $3 per bottle. Up to 3 (three) bottles per class accepted.
- All entries will be judged at appropriate temperatures.
- Judges will be suitably qualified persons under the Beer Judging Certification Program Guidelines. No person shall judge any class wherein a member of his or her household has entered beer.
- All beers must be sealed with a new, clean, unbranded gold seal cap.
- Each bottle is to be either 750ml or alternatively, plastic PET bottles are allowed with a clean unbranded cap.
- Judging will include a Bottle Inspection regarding appropriate size, cap, fill level, label removal etc. Comments will be given if bottles do not meet Presentation Standard.
- The airspace should measure:- 750ml = 4.5 to 6.5 (approx. 2”) from the top of the bottle / PET = 1” from top of the bottle.
- All beers should be a reasonable representation of the beer style entered.
- Details on the Ipswich Show general entry form should correspond with data on the entry label. The “entry number ” will be allocated randomly at the point of entry.
- The decisions of the judges and arbitrator are final and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
- Beers entered out of class will be re-classed unless previously judged.
Judging
Entries will be judged using BJCP guidelines:
- Beers will be judged against the Australian Amateur Brewing Championship 2018 Style Guidelines below.
- Brewers must specify one of the Styles for each entry.
- The organisers reserve the right to reclassify non-conforming entries to a listed Style.
